About me
Katie leads the instructional strategy and design of educational resources for middle school teachers and students within Discovery Education's Experience product. Previously, she served as a Professional Development Facilitator for Discovery Education, coaching and training K-12 educators across the United States on best practices and strategies for utilizing Discovery Education's products and resources.
Katie's career began as a National Board Certified Secondary English teacher at Mooresville High School in North Carolina. Recognized as a teacher leader, she led her district through a 1:1 digital conversion, training colleagues to effectively integrate technology and media into the classroom. She shared innovative strategies and engaging lesson plans with educators at the district, state, and national levels.
In her current role, Katie continues to share her expertise and passion with educators, demonstrating a strong commitment to research-based teaching practices to engage all learners.
